YEAR 2 SLEEPOVER

Last night our Year 2 students had their long-awaited school sleepover! They had a wonderful evening sharing pizzas for dinner, watching a movie together, and snacking on popcorn before settling in for the night.

This morning, the group started their day with plenty of chatter and laughter as they enjoyed breakfast in the staffroom and got ready for a big day of fun. Today, they’ve been participating in a MiniBOSS incursion, engaging in a variety of hands-on activities that build teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

A big thank you to all staff who supported this memorable experience for our students!

2026 PREP TRANSITION BEGINS NEXT WEEK

We are super excited to welcome our 2026 Preps for their very first transition session next Thursday, 16th October. We’ll have children joining us from a range of local kinders, taking their first steps into primary school life at Orchard Park.

This marks an exciting milestone as we begin our Prep Transition journey for our 2026 cohort. It’s always wonderful to see our future students meet one another, explore their new learning spaces, and start building a sense of belonging within our school community. During the session, the children will enjoy a variety of fun and engaging activities designed to give them a taste of what school life will be like next year. We can’t wait to support them as their confidence grows over the coming weeks!

SUNSMART REMINDER – HATS ARE BACK!

As we move further into Term 4, a friendly reminder that school hats are now a uniform requirement whenever students are outdoors. In line with our SunSmart Policy, hats must be worn during recess, lunch, PE, sport, and any outdoor learning time.

Please ensure your child brings their school hat every day to stay protected from the sun. Hats not only keep students safe from harmful UV rays but also promote healthy outdoor play.Remember to clearly label your child’s hat with their name so it can be returned to your child promptly if they misplace it.

Hats can be purchased from PSW, and please note that beanies and caps are not permitted as alternatives to the official school hat. Let’s work together to keep everyone SunSmart and safe this term!

COLOUR RUN – FRIDAY 24TH OCTOBER

Get ready — the Colour Run is almost here! Mark your calendars for Friday 24th October from 2:00–3:00pm, when our oval will burst into colour and excitement.

Thanks to the amazing support of our Parents and Friends Group, this year’s Colour Run is shaping up to be even bigger and better than ever! Students will make their way through an exciting obstacle course, running, jumping, and weaving their way through while being sprayed with all the colours of the rainbow. The energy will be high, the music will be pumping, and the smiles will be everywhere!

And of course, a crowd favourite returns — the chance to slime a teacher! The top fundraising student will have the honour of sliming Mr Jagoe or Miss Sutherland, and everyone who raises over $100 will go into the draw to slime another teacher of their choice.

The Parents and Friends Group are also looking for a few additional volunteers to help make the event run smoothly. If you’re willing and able to assist, please fill in the google form below and a member of the Parent and Friends team will be in contact with you prior to the event.

We are seeking support from 1:30pm - 3:30pm, as well as assisting with the running of the main event we would sincerely appreciate support in the set up and pack down of the event also.

Last year’s event raised over $20,000, and this year we’re hoping to beat that total! Every dollar raised goes directly towards improving our students’ learning environments and experiences. We can’t wait to see everyone’s smiling (and colourful!) faces at this year’s Colour Run!
