Important Information

As part of our commitment to professional development and supporting students with specific learning difficulties, I am excited to share an upcoming learning opportunity.

Topic: Understanding Specific Learning Disorders (Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia)

Date: Thursday, August 29th

Time: 4.30 – 6.00 pm

Location: University of New England (UNE), Fitzroy Street, Tamworth

This session will delve into the nuances of specific learning disorders, equipping our educators with valuable insights and tips to recognise and better support students who face challenges related to reading, writing, and mathematical skills. Sarah Barnes and Natalie Williamson, SLD experts, will lead discussions, share evidence-based practices, and address common misconceptions.

Following the staff session, we invite parents and caregivers to join us for an informative evening:

Dyslexia: Information Session for parents

Time: 6.15 – 7.15 pm

Location: University of New England (UNE), Fitzroy Street, Tamworth

During this session, we will explore ways parents can create a supportive home environment, understand the challenges faced by those who learn differently, and collaborate with teachers. Our goal is to foster a strong partnership between the school and families, ensuring that every child receives the tailored support they need to thrive academically and emotionally.

Please share with staff and families and mark your calendars for this important event. We hope many of you can join us.

Thank you for your ongoing dedication to your students’ success. If you have any questions or require further details, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Warm regards,
