Trike Fundraising Goal – Energy Breakthrough Challenge

Dear Prospective Sponsor,

We are approaching you kindly seeking sponsorship on behalf of an enthusiastic group of students from Donald High School to compete in the 2024 Energy Breakthrough Challenge in Maryborough, Vic. The event dates are from Wednesday 20th to Sunday 24th of November 2024. The DHS trike will again be named “It Is a Goode Thing”. If you would kindly consider the following sponsor packages as outlined below that might suit your business to help support our team’s vision to buy and race a new trike. Our overarching goal is to raise $12,000 for the cost of a new trike, plus a further $2,000 to support the team in its endeavour. Included is an image of the Trump Trike ‘Elite’ model for which we are aiming.

Platinum Sponsor – $5000

Prime position of their (large) logo on the new cart to remain on the cart for 3 years, ongoing promotion of their sponsorship for 3 years – including printing of logo on team uniform, media promotion through local news agencies with a photo opportunity and thank you ceremony at the school, acknowledgement through school communication and social media promotion from the school and team. (size to be confirmed for logo).

Gold Sponsor - $2000

Medium size logo on the new cart to remain on the cart for 3 years, ongoing promotion of their sponsorship for 3 years – including printing of logo on team uniform, media promotion through local news agencies, acknowledgement through school communication and social media promotion from the school and team. (size to be confirmed for logo). And invitations to other publicity opportunities.

Silver Sponsor - $1000

Small logo on the new cart to remain on the cart for 12 months, promotion of their annual sponsorship –including printing of logo on team uniform, media promotion through local news agencies, acknowledgement through school communication and social media promotion from the school and team. (size to be confirmed for logo).

Valued Sponsor – any amount of their choosing up to $1000. Acknowledgement of support through social media, school communication.

If none of the following options suit your business, we are also asking for assistance ‘in kind’ if possible.

The Energy Breakthrough has been running for the last 32 years in Maryborough. It involves students:

Building and/or modifying a human powered trike, moving as fast as possible but still meet strict safety standards.
Learning about healthy eating and fitness.
Preparing a 20-minute educational presentation about trike research and development and their journey to reach the Energy Breakthrough Challenge.
And of course, racing their trike around a track for 24 hours in a team of eight riders supported by a pit crew.

DHS students are busily preparing for this event already, by modifying their human powered trike, learning how to drive and repair the trike, as well as fundraising, training and preparing props and speeches for their presentation.

We are asking for assistance, either financially or in kind (water, drinker bottles, food, etc) to help us achieve our goal.

We need much required funds for our uniform, food and water, supplies, the entry fee and the annual service.

This is a fantastic opportunity for our students and in the past, they have gained valuable experience in teamwork and commitment as well as improving their communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

As you might imagine, the purchase of a new trike will take time to manufacture, so it is important to hear back from potential sponsors by Tuesday 13th August 2024.
