Level 2 have had another marvellous fortnight of learning and have been looking forward to the Olympics.               

Writing

Students have been exploring different types of poems and following the writing process from drafting, revising and editing through to publishing. Students explored creative ways to express thoughts and ideas in acrostic poems. They also followed the formula of limericks to write some entertaining ones!

Reading

Students are continuing the process of inferring, requiring them to analyse a text and develop an individual interpretation from the text. Students learnt how to paraphrase and write a comprehensive paraphrased summary of a key paragraph with many key details.

Maths

Students have been learning that patterns can simplify problem-solving and lead to new discoveries. They have enjoyed exploring, applying and continuing geometric and algebraic patterns.

Inquiry

Students have started looking at their local suburb, city, state, country and continent using Google Earth in the lead up to the Olympics. They have learnt about the symbols of the Olympic games and their purpose.
