Dear Parents and Friends,

Well, I think I can finally feel a little warmth in the air! Hopefully, we will continue to get some more warm weather and we can get rid of our coats, gloves and beanies sooner rather than later.

This week the Year 6 students usually do the newsletter but they are very busy over at St Louis enjoying their Leadership Day with other Year 6’s from our area.

Green and Gold!!

The Paris Olympics started last Monday and what a great Olympics for our Aussie team - how good was our 14 year old skater Arisa Trew from Qld winning gold! We are very proud of our athletes. Next Monday we are celebrating the end of the Olympics with a Green and Gold Day. The children can come dressed in Green and Gold (no hair colour or face paint) and during the middle block we will do some ‘Olympic’ sporting activities. Parents are welcome to come and join us.

Uniform

Just a reminder about wearing the correct uniform. At the moment I am seeing a lot of children wearing there runners with their normal school uniform, and also children wearing their sports uniform when it is not their sport day.

I know sometimes we ask them to wear their runners on different days but it is not a regular occurrence. I am also aware that some parents send a note about incorrect uniform which we really appreciate.

Get To Know You Meetings

I have continued our Get to Know You Meetings for the Foundation students for next year. It has been lovely to meet with the children and their parents and my walls are starting to fill up with beautiful drawings! At the moment we have 21 children enrolled for next year which is great and more than we had last year so hopefully we get a few more children over the next few months.

Lighting

Last week we had all the old lights replaced with new LED lights. They were mainly in the portables, 3/4 and Library area, Toilet blocks and the lights outside. This was a government initiative which we took advantage of. Our rooms are certainly looking brighter.

Welcome

This week we welcomed Abbie (Grace, Year 6’s mum) who is completing her placement hours for her Educational Support Officers course. Abbie has been supporting the students in all year levels to gain experience in how to best help the students and teachers.

Mordialloc Kinder Visits

Our Mordialloc Kinder Visits have once again proven successful with the children participating in a PMP session and a science experiment involving super heroes flying through the air!

Our Year 5 students have certainly enjoyed spending time with the Kinder children and they even remembered there names from their previous visits!

Year 3 Camp Experience

Our Year 3’s have their 'Camp at School' experience tonight and I know Annemarie has some fun activities ready for them to enjoy! Dinner sounds yummy too!

Book Week Family Movie Night

To Celebrate Book Week over the coming weeks, our students will be reading "ALEXANDER and the Terrible, Horrible, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY". We will be showing this Disney Classic film at our Family Movie Night on Friday 23rd of August at 6.00pm to 7.30pm in Brigid Hall - All welcome.

Bring your bean bags, picnic rugs, folding chair, dinner or snacks and enjoy this family classic!

Children must be accompanied by an Adult. Please RSVP via Operoo.

2025 and 2026 Enrolments Welcome

We still have some Principal tours coming up - the next one is Thursday 15th August so if you know of anyone who is still thinking about schools please let them know about the tour! If the dates do not suit please contact the office to arrange a different time.
