Chess Teams Go So Close:

On Friday, we took four teams to compete in the West Auckland Interschool Chess competition at Titirangi Primary. 

There were 32 teams of four members at the competition. All four of our teams did really well, showing competitiveness, good sportsmanship, and Manaakitanga throughout the competition. Our Top Team missed out on a spot in the National Championships in Wellington by ½ point. 

We will receive the confirmed placings of the other teams soon. This was an exceptional effort, and with a little more experience (for example, being brave enough to speak up and challenge when appropriate), we would have qualified for the National Champs. We are very proud of our top team and all our teams and players. You did yourselves, your families and your school proud.
