Sonny M - Prep D

Sonny is an inquisitive student who has shown curiosity in learning about different materials and what things are made of. He demonstrates curiosity through asking thoughtful and interesting questions which often lead to great classroom discussion. His keen interest in what things are made of has encouraged our class to think deeper about why we use different materials.

 

Edwyn M - 2C

Edwyn has shown a great deal of curiosity throughout the term, by continuously making connections to all learning areas and enthusiastically sharing his thinking and wonderings with the class, which was evident during our Big Question. It is so engaging to listen to all his wonderings about the world!

Max P - 5/6A

Max comes to class and approaches his learning with enthusiasm and curiosity. He consistently seeks feedback and strives to improve by asking thoughtful questions. Max's innate curiosity to explore and seek out answers, leads him to make deep connections and further wonderings across many subject areas. 

 

This strong desire to learn is a wonderful quality. Well done Max!

 

Robbie T- 6A

Robbie is a talented learner who delves deeply into every subject. He values a real world understanding and strives to make connections between all mediums he consumes. Robbie is courageous in trying new writing styles and sharing his work with the class. Well done Robbie on your engagement and passion for your learning.  

Personal Excellence

Matilda T - Prep C

Consistently modelling the EPS values, Matilda is an outstanding role model for her peers. 

Intrinsically motivated, she always has high expectations of herself and each day she works diligently to achieve her personal best. 

Matilda is always willing to help others and her kind, thoughtful and caring nature makes her a cherished member of Prep C.

 

Morris M - 5B

Morris, a quiet achiever, has made a brilliant start to Term 3. Morris is receiving the Personal Excellence award for always having a go at new activities and for having a growth mindset when attempting new challenges. Morris shows a great eagerness to learn and seeing him find his voice and contribute to class discussion has been wonderful! It’s been a pleasure being your teacher and 5B wish you all the best at your new school in America! 

 

Lexi R - 5/6A

Lexi emanates a thoughtful demeanour in class. During learning, she demonstrates her Peer Mediator leadership qualities through caring for peers, supporting them emotionally or helping them solve problems, cheering them up and actively listening. Lexi's intrinsic motivation towards personal excellence has led to higher engagement and greater persistence across all areas. Well done, Lexi!

 

Responsibility

Madeleine P- 2C

Throughout the year, Madeleine  has consistently demonstrated Responsibility by coming to school ready to learn. She exhibits a dedicated approach to maintaining her personal belongings in an organised and tidy manner. Madeleine  consistently follows the classroom agreement and always sets a great example to her peers.

Excellence in English

 

Rudy M - Prep B

Rudy has grown in all areas of English. In Writing, Rudy has been working hard to write all of the letters for the sounds that he hears and use spaces between his words. He has grown in his writing and takes pride in his work. Rudy has also been putting lots of effort into his Red Satchel books, reaching a new milestone. He has been doing a wonderful job at tracking as he reads and reading on and back.

Congratulations Rudy. Keep up the great learning! 

 

Flossy W - 2A

With an enthusiastic attitude and a growth mindset towards her learning, Flossy has consistently been a positive influence on our classroom. Recently, in our writing sessions, she has been displaying an exceptional effort in creating poems of various forms, engaging both independently and collaboratively to express her ideas. More often than not, at the end of each writing session you will see Flossy confidently sharing her writing. Her willingness to think flexibly and try new things has allowed her to develop her voice as a writer. 

 

I look forward to hearing more of your writing this year.

Chiao H - 5A

Chiao has engaged superbly in all areas of Literacy this Term. Chiao is a focused reader and has delved deeply into topical conversation during his book club group meetings. He has also demonstrated his deep knowledge of poetry in classroom discussion. As well as this, Chiao’s creativity and work ethic have shone through in his poetry writing in class as well as in homework. Keep up the great work Chiao!

 

Ellie R - 6B

Ellie has been developing her skills as a writer this term by diving straight into poetry with determination and creativity. Ellie has spent time collecting ideas that are meaningful to her and related to our topic of nature. She has created a poem that is original and uses the devices of personification and figurative language. Some of your best writing yet! Well done Ellie - keep it up!

Excellence in Maths

Savannah Q - Prep A

Savannah always approaches our Math lessons with curiosity and enthusiasm. Recently, when exploring 3-dimensional objects Savannah demonstrated her knowledge of these, finding examples of each around our school, sorting objects, and using her understanding to make a flower with playdoh. Savannah confidently shares her thinking with the class during Math lessons and willingly takes on challenges to extend her thinking. A wonderful effort, Savannah!

 

Jude P - 2B

Jude consistently approaches our mathematics lessons by searching for ways to challenge himself. He is a student who is willing to contribute his ideas and help others to solve complex problems. This term in particular Jude has excelled in his ability to demonstrate his mathematical thinking especially in multiplication. He has used a wide range of strategies to find answers and explain his thinking.

 

I am looking forward to expanding your knowledge and challenging you further.

Jackson T - 5/6A

Jackson has been showing persistence and a positive mindset during mathematics. Jackson has demonstrated a reflective disposition by embracing his errors to share with the class to gain deeper understanding, and thereby challenging himself to extend his thinking. 

Congratulations Jackson, embracing mathematical errors in front of others inspires those around you in 5/6A to develop persistence and a growth mindset.

 

Oscar P - 6A

A dedication to his learning and an understanding of what he needs to succeed has allowed Oscar to soar in mathematics this year. Oscar showed determination to learn and apply new knowledge during our shape unit even when he was away sick. His resilience, responsibility and initiative continues to inspire his peers and set him up for growth. Great work Oscar.
