Year 3/4 Sport

Ms Welton

Congratulations to our new Term 3 Grade 3/4 sports monitors: Tommy B, Felix, Bella, Jack, Lachie, Winnie, Tommy D, Issy, Gabrielle and Lenny. As the world celebrates the Olympic spirit, our new monitors have taken on their roles with enthusiasm and dedication, embodying the values of teamwork and perseverance. The Term 2 monitors have handed over the responsibility, and our new representatives are off to a great start.

Each week, they demonstrate the learner asset skills of being Self-Managers and Contributors by attending planning meetings, dedicating some of their lunchtime every week to setting up the sports for their peers, and then packing up at the end of the session. Mr. De Nardis notes that they are upholding the EPS school value of Respect by making sure the sports equipment is carefully returned to its proper place in the gym storeroom each week.

In the true spirit of the Olympics, our monitors are not only promoting physical activity but also encouraging everyone to give their best effort, showing good sportsmanship whether they win or lose. In addition, the incorporation of skipping in motor skills this year has given the Grade 3/4s all the expertise required to be frontrunners as fundraisers for Jump Rope for Heart.

Our monitors are regularly consulting with their classmates to decide which sports and activities we will be playing next; at the moment castleball is popular, and everyone is enjoying the return of rounders - but what about hockey, netball, tennis, pickleball..?

Congratulations to Murphy, who were the Term 2 3/4 Sport Champions. Stay tuned for who our Term 3 Winners will be!
