VOCATIONAL MAJOR EXPERIENCES
Our students studying VCE-VM get to participate in lots of different activities so they have great exposure to many different areas of interest. Across this year, students are working with Jackson 'Jacks' Hewitt (Class of 2006), owner of Brother Boxing Studio in Cheltenham. The sessions provide our students with physical, social and emotional awareness through training and exercise. Jacks' passion is an inspiration for our students - he followed his heart doing what he loves and transformed it into a successful business. This experience and time with Jacks is a great way for our students to enjoy strong connection to our Community both during and after their VCE-VM at our College. Big thanks to Jacks and his team at Brother Boxing for their support!
Students studying VCE-VM Personal Development took on a High Ropes Course Challenge in leafy Belgrave to test their skills and teamwork. Students are required to show evidence and understanding of the OHS requirements of the course and then also physical task themselves with completing sections of the course. Understanding the process of safety requirements helps students navigate the course in teams and as this is practiced over the day the competency and confidence grows.
Over in our garden, the VCE-VM students grew silver beet and coriander across Term 2 and donated 120kg of the crops to food charity, @fareshare_australia. Thank you for making a positive difference. We can't wait to see your new crops for August will bring.
