Year 7’s have been completing Space Models to finish off their unit of Space. They will start their Chemistry Unit this week and next, including exploring the properties and reactions of dry ice!
Here William Z. 7H3 is creating his model.
Here students are using a model to explore the phases of the moon.
Science innovation challenge
Over the holidays three of our Science leaders (Stephanie, Anisha and Celine) took part in SuperHack – an Engineering design challenge to create something that solved an environmental issue. The model they built was able to drill a hole and plant seeds if the right condition were met, such as temperature and humidity.
The team of three came third overall all and learnt some great skills in programming and electronics.
Meet our 2024 Science Leaders
Anisha R.
Hello, I’m one of your Year 11 Science Leaders for 2024 and I’m very excited to fulfil this role to the very best of my ability! I take Physics, Chemistry and AP Biology, all because of my lifelong love for the sciences. They’ve always been an endless whirlpool of knowledge and questions, ready to be used to benefit our world! I personally hope to continue to pursue the sciences in my tertiary education, aiming to help people by entering the medical field. I’d love to be able to encourage people at VSC to discover and pursue their passions in all the science fields with the help of the amazing science resources and opportunities at this school!
