Great News

Farm staff and students have worked hard to ensure the College’s milk pasteuriser and facility are operational. I am pleased to announce that the machine and facility passed a final audit on Tuesday and the College will supply milk to the kitchen again next week. Well done to everyone involved.

Lamb Marking

Farm staff and students have commenced lamb marking this week, with many students achieving the Identify and Mark Livestock unit of competence. Calf marking will commence next week. Well done to the students on their efforts so far.

Chainsaw Course

A one-day chainsaw course will be held at the College on the weekend of either 14th or 15th September. The cost is $155 per student and payment in full is required before the course begins.

Completing the course will allow students to obtain the AHCMOM213 Operate and Maintain Chainsaws unit of competence. All students have been emailed a link to an express interest form. Alternatively, there is a QR code on the notice board outside Mr Swallow's office. Places are limited and preference will be given to Year 12 students as it is their last year at the College.

Rural Enterprises Visit

On Thursday, Rural Enterprises delivered an engaging presentation to our Year 12 students, introducing their free employment services aimed at connecting students with opportunities in agricultural and related industries, both domestically and internationally. Students actively participated by asking insightful questions, demonstrating their enthusiasm and interest in exploring career paths within rural sectors.

For those interested in seasonal or permanent employment opportunities in agriculture, we encourage students to reach out to Rural Enterprises. This session not only provided valuable information but also empowered students to take proactive steps towards their future careers.

Weekend Stock Roster

Year 10 and 11 students are encouraged to take special note of the Weekend Stock Roster as their attendance is a requirement of their Farm learning program.

If a student cannot attend their weekend stock duty, it is their responsibility to arrange a swap with another student at least 1 week before their rostered weekend. Students who fail to complete their weekend stock duty will be rostered for additional weekend duties.

Repeated non-attendance will result in a loss of Good Standing until weekend stock duties have been fulfilled.

Please don’t hesitate to contact myself or Tony Abel (Farm Manager) if you require further information regarding the Farm Training program.
