From the Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

I hope that the term has been a positive one for you and your family.

Reports

I would like to remind parents that school reports for Term 2 will be available at the end of the term. These reports provide valuable insights into your child's academic progress, as well as their overall development and achievements throughout the term. I encourage all parents to take the time to review their child's report and to discuss it with them. This is an opportunity for parents and children to celebrate successes, identify areas for improvement, and set goals for the future.

Community Spirit

This term, we have seen wonderful examples of community engagement through various initiatives such as Mother’s Day, Subject Teacher Conversations, National Reconciliation Mass, College Open Day, and our SOLE Recognition Day, just to name a few. These events have not only brought our community together but have also provided valuable opportunities for parents to actively participate in their child's educational journey. Your involvement is truly appreciated and makes a significant difference in the life of our College community. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to St Augustine's College.

Enrolments

I would like to take a moment to remind our community about the importance of student enrolments for the upcoming academic year. Enrolments for the next school year will be closing on 30 June. I am pleased to share that interest in St Augustine's College remains strong, and many of our year groups are nearing capacity. This is a testament to the outstanding reputation of our College and the dedication of our staff to providing an exceptional educational experience for our students. If you know of any families who are interested in joining the St Augustine's College community, please encourage them to contact the College and speak to Nicole Elliott, our Enrolments Officer, for further information and to arrange a tour of our College.

2024 Bishop Joe Grech Youth Scholarship Award

I am delighted to announce that Guneet Buttar and Charli Miller have been successful in winning a 2024 Bishop Joseph Grech Youth Scholarship. The scholarship recognises exceptional young people in Sandhurst Secondary Schools who contribute to the life of their colleges through their commitment to their faith and to social justice. This is a wonderful achievement and I congratulate Guneet and Charli on achieving this award. Thank you also to Kylie Morrissey who supported the girls in their application.

Playgroup

St Augustine’s Playgroup is held each Wednesday morning from 9:15am - 10:30am. Our Playgroup provides a fun and safe environment for children to learn, play and socialise with their peers. Through our play-based program, children will develop their social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills in a nurturing and supportive environment. If you are interested in attending our Playgroup with your three to five year old children, or if you know of anyone who may be interested in joining the St Augustine’s Playgroup, you are most welcome. Further information can be obtained by contacting Peta Bibby.

Looking forward to Term 3

As we look ahead to the upcoming break, I encourage all students to take some time to rest, recharge, and reflect on their achievements from this term. Term 3 promises to be filled with new opportunities for growth and learning, and I am excited to see what our community will accomplish together.

Calendar Date Change: Advanced Notice

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to make a minor change to one of our Student Free Days in Term 3. Our Student Free Day / Subject Teacher Conversations date was initially planned for Tuesday 20 August. The date has been changed to Monday 26 August. My apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
