Mr Blake's final Farewell

Just thinking about the last 10 years and if Karen was to check the amount of sick days I had, there's probably 1-2 days a year, some years there were no days missed but it wasn't because I wasn't sick it was just because I wanted to be here and I loved working here.  As I stand before you today, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude and reflection. After 10 wonderful years at this incredible school, the time has come for me to bid farewell. It is said that life is a series of lessons and blessings, and my time here has been rich with both.

First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the entire staff. Your dedication, hard work, and unwavering support have been the backbone of Sacred Heart. Together, we have faced challenges, celebrated successes, and grown both personally and professionally. You have taught me the true meaning of teamwork and resilience. The lessons I have learned from each of you will remain with me forever, and I consider it a blessing to have worked alongside such a remarkable group of individuals. #lessonsandblessings Special shout out to Mr Brown, Miss Rafferty and Miss Mc Kay who had to put up with me the longest as part of their teams.

To the parents and the wider community, thank you for your unwavering support and trust. Your involvement and commitment have been vital to our success. You have shown me the importance of partnership and collaboration in nurturing a positive learning environment. The lessons of community and shared purpose have been invaluable, and I am blessed to have been part of such a supportive and engaged network. #lessonsandblessings

To the students, you are the heart and soul of this school. Over the years, I have watched you learn, grow, and achieve incredible things. Your curiosity, enthusiasm, and determination have been a constant source of inspiration for me. Each day spent with you has been a lesson in joy, creativity, and the boundless potential of the human spirit. It has been a blessing to be a part of your educational journey, and I am confident that you will continue to reach new heights and make us all proud. #lessonsandblessings

Reflecting on these past 10 years, I am reminded of the countless moments that have shaped my experience here. From the first day I walked through these doors, to the many milestones and memories we have created together, each moment has been a lesson in growth, perseverance, and the power of education. These moments have been blessings that have enriched my life beyond measure.

As I embark on the next chapter of my journey, I carry with me the lessons and blessings from my time at this school. I am grateful for the friendships forged, the knowledge gained, and the opportunities to make a difference as vice principal to classroom teachers. While I may be leaving, the memories and the impact we have made together will remain with me always. #lessonsandblessings

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making these 10 years so meaningful and unforgettable. It has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of this wonderful school community. Remember, it is all about lessons and blessings, and I have been fortunate to experience both in abundance here.

Wishing you all continued success, happiness, and fulfillment in all your endeavors.

With deepest gratitude and warmest regards,

Mr Blake

Sacred Heart Song  (to the tune of Sweet Caroline)

(Verse 1) Where it began, I can’t begin to know when, But now I know it’s growing strong, Was in the spring, then spring became the summer, Who’d have believed I’d stay so long?

(Pre-Chorus) Hands, joining hands, Reaching out, joining me, joining you,

(Chorus) Sweet Sacred Heart, (bom bom bom) Good times never seemed so good, I've been inclined, (bom bom bom) To believe they never would, oh no, no,

(Verse 2) I've been here, for ten amazing years, Lessons and blessings every day, Teaching with friends, and having amazing students, projects, maths weeks  and lots of laughs

(Pre-Chorus) Hands, joining hands, Reaching out, joining me, joining you,

(Chorus) Sweet Sacred Heart, (bom bom bom) Good times never seemed so good, I've been inclined, (bom bom bom) To believe they never would, oh no, no,

(Bridge) Color runs and school masses, Football teams and soccer dreams, School camps and prep buddies, BBQs and playground friends.

(Verse 3) So now I stand, filled with memories so grand, From cups of tea in the staffroom, Lots of friends, and laughter through the years, With each moment, I've found my way,

(Pre-Chorus) Hands, joining hands, Reaching out, joining me, joining you,

(Chorus) Sweet Sacred Heart, (bom bom bom) Good times never seemed so good, I've been inclined, (bom bom bom) To believe they never would, oh no, no,

(Outro) Sweet Sacred Heart, (bom bom bom) Good times never seemed so good, Sweet Sacred Heart, (bom bom bom) I believe they never could.

Journeying Together

Sacrament preparation for families booklet

https://sacraments.melbournecatholic.org/

Journeying Together covers the sacraments most commonly celebrated with primary-school-aged children - Reconciliation (Penance), Eucharist, and Confirmation. This resource will complement your child’s sacrament preparation at their Catholic primary school or in a parish catechetical setting.

Each sacrament module includes four sessions. Each session includes an invitation to explore and integrate the family’s lived experience with concepts from Scripture, the Church and the sacraments, along with opportunities to pray together.

We hope that by opening this opportunity, many will encounter Jesus and engage with their faith in a fresh and meaningful way.
