Year 1

Hello from 1A

We are almost halfway through the year, and what a wonderful time we’ve had in 1A! From learning addition and subtraction, writing narratives and our excursion to Coal Creek, it has definitely been a busy but brilliant term.

This week, we spent some time thinking about things that we were proud of ourselves for, as part of one of our THRIVE lessons. The responses from the Year 1 students really highlight some of their achievements so far:

I am proud of myself for…

Xavier B- “being a kind friend.”

Emily- “my writing and spelling.”

Georgia- “trying my best in everything.”

Will- “making good choices and being a kind friend.”

Isla- “writing two pages in my weekend recount writing.”

Eleanor- “joining other kids games outside, like follow the leader.”

Ethan- “getting better at handwriting.”

Marli- “doing a flip on the monkey bars for the first time.”

Blake- “doing my best in grade 1.”

Leo- “writing my first full story.”

Amelia- “being a kind friend everyday.”

Danielle- “my reading because I can read Treehouse books now.”

Rylee- “getting an award for my narrative about the panda in the castle.”

Brianna- “always doing my BEST work!”

Marley- “doing things that I thought were scary, but they weren’t.”

Lola- “doing grade 1, even when it’s a bit tricky.”

Mitchell- “making good choices and trying my best!”

Zoe- “getting a Principal Award for my writing from Mr Moorhouse, I even cried!”

Xavier S- “the first day of Grade 1 when I was nervous, but I still did it.”

Aspen- “trying my best and being a kind friend to everyone.”

Hunter- “getting very good at maths and addition and subtraction.”

Evie- “I am proud of myself for riding my bike but also proud of everyone in the class.”

Polly- “putting lots of effort into my work in my writing.”

Summer- “writing a story. I am so so so so proud of my story.”

I am so proud of 1A and all their achievements this year so far!
