Child Safety and Wellbeing
The Victorian Government is committed to the promotion of the Child Safe Standards to further strengthen child safety across organisations, including schools. The standards recognise the critical importance of families and the broader school community in maintaining and promoting child safety and wellbeing.
Essendon North Primary School continues to systematically review and update our child safety policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the requirements of the standards. All published and endorsed policies are available on our school website. The following child safety and wellbeing policies have been updated in alignment with Ministerial Order No. 1359 – Child Safe Standards are:
- Bullying Prevention Policy
- Child Safety Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy and Procedures
- Complaints and Concerns Policy
- Student Wellbeing and Engagement Policy
- Visitors Policy
- Volunteers Policy
We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to child safety and wellbeing and welcome feedback from families and members of our school community on ways we can further strengthen our child safety policies, procedures and practices.
At our next School Council Meeting, being held on Monday the 24th of June, we are seeking endorsement of our Digital Learning Policy and Child Safety Code of Conduct. These documents will then be updated on our school website and shared in the next newsletter.
