Making Ooblek!

On Monday, Foundation students had the best time making ‘Ooblek’ as part of their language experience. Ooblek is the most magical substance and a fabulous thing! It is both a solid and a liquid… a solid when tapped or rolled, and as soon as you just let it be, it becomes a runny liquid - WOW!

Language experiences are an exciting part of our literacy curriculum, where students have opportunities to engage in shared experiences that integrate all areas of language and literacy. Making ooblek was also closely connected to our current unit of inquiry; Senses help us explore the world, where students used different senses to make and explore.

Making ooblek was messy, fun and exciting, and allowed Foundation students to generate amazing ideas for interactive and independent writing!
