Assistant Principal Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

By now most Year Four to Six students are in the process of completing the Attitude to School Survey. This survey enables schools to focus on how students feel about their learning and other aspects of school life. As stated in the information guide that was sent to all parents and carers of our senior students: The AtoSS is a voluntary annual student survey offered by the Department of Education to assist schools and the department to gain an understanding of students' perceptions and experience ofschool. We value student voice as a means to improving student engagement, wellbeing and quality instruction and will be asking your child about their thoughts and feelings in relation to their school, their learning, peer relationships, resilience, bullying, health and wellbeing, physical activity,

and life in general.

A Grade Five/Six drug safety incursion will be taking place next Tuesday the 11th of June. This has been organised by the Grade Five/Six Team Leader, Jenna Davies,  through Teen Challenge Tasmania. The incursion will provide students with current scientific, medical and statistical information on the issues surrounding drug and alcohol use, particularly on the impact of use on the developing brain. These topics are required as part of the Grade 5/6 Victorian Curriculum and assist students in planning and practising strategies to promote health, safety and wellbeing.

We also would like to welcome back six of our students that were lucky enough to go to Somers camp. They had an action filled week that had a big focus on team work. By all reports, the food was great too!
