Year 9/10 Electives 2025

Current Year 8 and 9 students are invited to the Year 9/10 Elective Subject Information Evening tonight (Wednesday 3 July) at 6.00pm. The focus is to provide students and families with the range of elective courses provided as opportunities for students in 2025. The evening will also present the 2025 Year 9/10 Course Guide, which will be emailed to families after the event.

Students have until Friday 2 August to confirm their preferences for their elective courses in 2025.

Year 10 Course Counselling

Year 10 students have been busy delving into discussions about their pathways for Year 11. Students have had the opportunity to discuss different learning areas and subject specific questions with teachers during Pillars lessons.

The College encourages students to use the TASC website to access reliable and accurate information about the range of courses available. Each learning area also provides a page dedicated to each course with subject specific information, content and assessment requirements to support students in selecting the appropriate course.

This resource provides the option to use the TASC Course Planner. This page is a valuable tool for students to map out their courses and ensure they are covering all prerequisites.

Senior School reporting

Senior School student Mid-Year Reports will be emailed to families on Friday 5 July. The Senior School Mid-Year Report is a comprehensive document that informs parents, carers and students of the student’s progress in all learning areas throughout Semester 1.

The Years 7-10 report includes student progress against strands in each course, an A-E rating against the Australian Curriculum rating scale and indicators of the student’s personal and social capabilities in their approaches to learning.

A Year 11-12 student’s report has a result against criteria or units assessed in each course and indicators of the student’s personal and social capabilities in their approaches to learning.

A supporting document will be sent to parents and carers to guide their interpretation of their child’s report on Friday 5 July.

Learning Conferences

Families are encouraged to attend the Learning Conferences on Monday 22 July. Information will be shared with the reporting documentation sent home at the end of Term 2 regarding securing a booking with teachers. The College strongly encourages students to attend with their family to be an active participant in the conversations.

Connect

Students, families and teachers are increasingly using the range of features provided by Connect to share communication about learning. Students have a range of learning experiences shared via their feedback tab and are encouraged to have discussions with family members about the strengths of this system and any areas for improvement.

The Senior School Families page provides easy access to the College calendar with events relevant to your child, and tips about using Connect.

Information about reports will also be accessible via this page on Friday 5 July
