As we reach the end of a busy Term 1, I wanted to congratulate all of our students on the fantastic progress our students have made in learning our whole school routines and expectations including how they line up, walk around the school, get ready to learn and transition between activities. It’s been rewarding to see our students demonstrating the expected behaviours of respect, resilience, and empathy.
Our teachers have continued to set high expectations of all students in terms of their behaviour and learning and we are seeing students embracing challenges with resilience and a growth mindset.
On the 21st of March we celebrated Harmony Day, a wonderful occasion to recognise and appreciate the rich cultural diversity within our school. Students participated in a variety of activities that helped foster understanding and respect, celebrating what makes us unique while also coming together as a united community.
Another highlight last week was our student leaders completing another kinder visit. Once again, we were so impressed by the compassion and responsibility that they demonstrated as well as their ability to share their experiences and knowledge with younger students.
The ongoing development of their leadership skills through participation in opportunities like these is something to be proud of. We look forward to our student leaders continuing to connect with our community and promote positive and inclusive behaviours within our school.
As we head into the break, I want to thank all our students, staff and families for their continued support. I am heading off on leave for the first four weeks of Term 2 and Bradley Stringer will be stepping into my position during this time. I look forward to seeing you all on my return and wish you all a safe and happy holiday.
