Class 17

Class 17 – Stefan, Rena and Tracey
Class 17 has had a great 1st term developing constructive and co-operative student relationships while furthering ourlearning in Math, English, Science, Civics, and specialty subjects such as Music, Art, PE and Dance. We were also introduced to the Latin Languages of Italian, French and Spanish through pop songs like Richie Valens’ “La Bamba”. This was a particular hit with several students still humming and singing the tune days later.
Other highlights include our Mother’s Beach excursion at the start of the year, where we went sea kayaking and played some beach games. We were then lucky enough to go on another Beach Day at Frankston where we were introduced to some valuable water safety knowledge from Lifesaving Victoria including how to rescue someone with a rescue tube.
Both excursions were very rewarding experiences where we learned a lot about ourselves as well as how to work better with each other as part of a team.
Later this term we welcomed two new students into our class who have been able to settle in very well and become part of our inclusive group. We also participated in a fun Athletics Day where most of our class received ribbons in a range ofevents. To finish off the term one of our class members was elected as a very popular choice for the Senior school Student Representative Council.
Finally, to top it off, we look forward to seeing our classteacher face the “Dunk Tank” as a reward for all our hard efforts in working towards our school goal this term of “Being a Learner”!
