Our VPC students have had an action-packed and purposeful term filled with leadership opportunities, enterprise learning, teamwork challenges, and important workplace skills development.

Developing Personal Goals – Literacy & IEPs

Students worked on their Individual Education Plan (IEP) presentations, using Google Slides to reflect on their strengths, goals, and interests. This activity not only supported their literacy and ICT skills but also encouraged self-awareness and personal goal setting, essential steps towards future pathways.

Teamwork & Problem Solving – $20 Boss Marshmallow Challenge

As part of our $20 Boss enterprise program, students participated in the Marshmallow Challenge! In small groups, they collaborated to build the tallest tower possible using spaghetti, tape, string, and marshmallows. Through this fun and hands-on task, students practiced key enterprise skills including teamwork, creativity, communication, and problem-solving.

Numeracy in Action – Measuring Skills

In Numeracy, students continued their practical learning by measuring various objects around the school using different tools. They explored concepts of perimeter and area by working with 2D shapes, recording data in different units of measurement, and applying calculations to real-world scenarios.

Workplace Readiness – Health & Safety 'Murder Mystery'

A highlight this term was our engaging Workplace Readiness Session, where students participated in an Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) "Murder Mystery" investigation. They examined a simulated crime scene, identified potential workplace hazards, and worked through strategies to ensure a healthy and safe work environment. It was a fantastic way for students to understand real-world safety expectations while building problem-solving skills.

Personal Development – Survivor Challenges

Our ever-popular Survivor program continues! Students collaborated to design team flags representing their tribe's identity, then applied teamwork and leadership skills to build shelters using available materials. Each tribe demonstrated fantastic cooperation, and tribal rewards were given to those who showed strong team values.
