School Cross Country

The School Cross Country will be held this Thursday 27 March. All students from Years 7-12 will be involved in the event from PC-Period 4. Sport will be as normal in the afternoon. Parents are most welcome if they wish to view the finish at the St Andrews Reserve (rodeo ground). Students will receive full details on the Compass notification.

 

Sport Choices

Sport choices are being issued this week. Students will make their selections next Friday 4 April. It is important that students select carefully and consider the cost of some sports. Representative Rugby League and Football/Futsal will continue and Rep Netball will commence. 

 

Swimming Carnival Awards

Congratulations to the following students who will receive their swimming age champions and runners up awards at the next assembly. Our 2025 Swimming Carnival champions Hunter will present the awards.

Congratulations to Riley S, Archie M and Natasha S who have been selected to represent the Diocese at the NSWCCC Swimming Championships on the 2/3 April at Homebush.

 

Diocesan Netball and Soccer Trials

The registrations for the Diocesan Open Boys and Open Girls Soccer teams and the U15yrs and Open Girls Netball teams will be closing on the following dates:

Netball: Thursday 27 March

Soccer: Tuesday 8 April.

Students interested in the trials must be approved by the sport coordinator before registering online. Meetings will be held at school to seek expression of interest. There is set criteria that students MUST meet to be eligible for the trials.

 

Rugby League

On Wednesday our 14years Cochrane Cup Boys Rugby League team play at Cessnock in the Hunter Region division of the competition. The winner of the semi finals in each of the pools will then play the final next term. Thank you to our coaches and team managers who have been preparing the team.

 

Next week our Diocesan Rugby League representatives attend the Northern NSW Rugby League trials. We have representatives in all 4 teams – U15 Boys, U16 Girls and Open Boys and Girls. Ms Kylie Watkins will be a team manager for Diocesan Girls teams.

 

Open Boys and Girls Football

Both our Open Girls and Boys Football teams played in the Diocesan Knockout competition at Speers Point. Our teams enjoyed a very competitive day of football with Mr Sokulsky as the coach and Ms Marston accompanying the girls team as manager and Mr Bristow as the boys manager. The Boys Bill Turner Cup team will play against Scone Grammar next Monday 31 March at Scone in Round 1 of the competition.

 

Fast Five Netball

Next Monday 31 March our senior mixed Fast Five Netball teams will play in the NSW Netball Cup at Wangi. The teams are looking forward to a highly competitive day against Hunter Region and Central Coast. Ms Millevoi and Mr O’Toole will coach the teams.
