St Joseph’s Feast Day

On Wednesday, 19 March, we commemorated St Joseph’s Feast Day with a full school Mass. During the service, Father Victor blessed the Leadership Badges in preparation for the Badge Ceremony later that evening.

Thank you to Vince Cooper and Margaret Hamilton for organising the Mass and Lesley Shipman for coordinating the Badge Ceremony. It was wonderful to have live music at both events. A huge thank you to Claire Dent and Bronwen Smith and the music students for their efforts in making the Mass and evening very special with live music being played during both events.

I would also like to thank all the families who joined us for afternoon tea before the badge ceremony. There was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, with people engaging with each other before the formal ceremony.

Prayer to St Joseph

You provided for Mary and Jesus in times both ordinary and extraordinary

Pray for the well-being of fathers and mothers as they tend to their children’s needs.

May they, like you, remain a steady presence in their homes and communities.

You protected your family when the threat of violence overtook the land.

Pray for parents as they shelter their children from harm.

May they, like you, remain strong and courageous despite their anxieties and struggles.

You dreamed of ways to respond to the mysterious work of God in your life.

Pray for all of us who strive to listen in prayer.

May we, like you, remain open in heart and mind to the stirring of the Holy Spirit.

We ask your intercession as you continue to provide inspiration and hope to those who, like you, place their trust in God.

P&F Meeting next week – Monday 31 March 6 pm

At the end of the Badge Ceremony last week, I invited all parents to come and join me for the P&F meeting next week. During the meeting, I provide a copy of the School Improvement Plan and will give a guided tour of the new facilities opened at the end of 2024. We also need to look at the new structure for 2025 as we transition from a P&F to the new FACE Forum (Family And Community Engagement). This is a diocesan-wide change away from the P&F model, which has been struggling in some schools for several years. I do encourage parents and carers to join us in the meeting and assist us in serving the school community with your opinions and ideas.
