A Note from the Counsellors: Looking After Wellbeing Over the Easter Holidays

As we head into the Easter break, we encourage students and families to take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time together. While holidays offer a break from routine, they can also bring challenges in maintaining balance and wellbeing. Here are some simple ways to support positive mental health over the break:

  • Maintain a Healthy Rhythm – A change of pace is great, but keeping regular sleep, meal, and activity times can help maintain energy and mood.
  • Stay Connected – Spending time with family and friends, joining in community activities, or simply checking in with loved ones can make a big difference in feeling supported.
  • Get Moving – Fresh air and physical activity help reduce stress and boost overall wellbeing. Walks, bike rides, or even a fun family game can keep everyone feeling good.
  • Balance Screen Time – While holidays can mean more time online, taking breaks from screens helps with focus, sleep, and mental clarity.
  • Check In With Each Other – Encourage open conversations about feelings. If your child is struggling, support is available through services like Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800) and Headspace.

We wish all our students and families a safe, happy, and restful Easter break. We look forward to seeing everyone back refreshed for the new term!
