Term 1 Mt A Marvels

Pia - Year 10

Congratulations to Pia (Year 10) for her outstanding performance at the 2025 National Rowing Championships! Over five days of intense competition, Pia raced in several single scull events, ultimately securing a spot in the B Final and finishing an impressive 6th place. With this achievement, Pia is now officially the 13th fastest single sculler in Australia!

Elisabeth | Year 11

Recently elected as the Queensland Youth Parliament representative for Everton Park!

From Elisabeth: As a Youth Member of the QYP, I will be part of a program running throughout the year where I'll work with the committee I was assigned to (Energy, Science and Innovation and Local Government and Water) and write a Bill proposing a law reform that I'm passionate about.

This Bill will be debated at Parliament House in Brisbane during the Residential Sitting Week, which is an exciting opportunity to engage with real parliamentary processes and interact with the other members. I'm most excited about the chance to represent the issues of young people in my electorate.

Paige, Audrey, and Ava | Year 7

Congratulations to Paige, Audrey, and Ava for making the North District netball team! 🙌

They’re off to regionals, competing for a spot in the 10-12 years Met North Netball team, traveling to the Sunshine Coast in May!

Alicia | Year 10

Alicia has recently been selected by the Queensland Touch Association (QTF) to be a 2025 Brisbane Broncos NRL Touch Permit U14 Girls representative player. She had the chance to attend the training camp from February 14-16.  Just two nights before the camp, Alicia was upgraded by QTF,  and was named as a U16 Girls Brisbane Broncos representative player! This is a really exciting opportunity for her to train, compete, and learn alongside players who are 1-2 years older than her from across the state.

Martha | Year 9

Congratulations to Martha, whose dedication and hard work in AFL have secured her a spot in the Brisbane Lions Level 2 team for the National U16 Championships!

We’re so proud to see a Mt A student achieving such high standards in this sport. Best of luck in the championships, Martha – we’re cheering you on all the way! 🏉
