Secondary Interhouse Cross Country Championships

The cross-country season hit full stride as Clayfield College students descended on the new-look, course at Shaw Park in Wooloowin, for the hotly anticipated Secondary Interhouse Cross Country Championships on Tuesday 25 March.

In an exciting debut for the revamped course, runners faced a fast but demanding terrain that tested stamina, and grit from the starting gun to the final finish line. The morning opened with a blanket of mist, and damp conditions, with each house bringing a wave of colour, spirit, and noise that lifted the day into a celebration of competition and camaraderie.

Runners from across all year levels dug deep, tackling undulating trails, sharp turns, and long straights. Whether chasing points for their house or chasing down a personal best, every runner contributed to an electric atmosphere that echoed with cheers, and house war cry’s.

With points on the line toward the coveted 2025 Champion House title, the battle was fierce across all divisions. But beyond the finish times and house scores, the real story was one of house spirit.

A huge shoutout goes to the Clayfield College Sports and Maintenance teams, along with our dedicated secondary staff, whose behind-the-scenes work ensured the day ran like clockwork. And now, the champions, those who led the pack and earned their place at the top of the podium.
