Celebrating Harmony Day

Last Friday, Clayfield College came alive with vibrant performances, heartfelt speeches, and a shared sense of belonging as we celebrated Harmony Day. The event was a true reflection of our diverse community, highlighting the many cultures and traditions that make our school so special.

A particular highlight of the day was the musical contribution of our guest musician, Jack Meimaris. Jack played the processional tunes and provided exceptional accompaniment for the Alegria Strings and the Irish Dancers.

Jack shared his thoughts on the experience.

“Thank you for having me – it was an absolute joy to be at Clayfield College today. What a wonderful environment to learn and teach in! The sense of community you have is truly special. I genuinely had a great time. I’ve been smiling all day.”

- Jack Meimaris

Congratulations to our students, staff, parents and special guests for coming together to celebrate our diversity.

Year 3 String Immersion Program

Our Year 3 students have had a fantastic start to the year, learning beginner tunes and developing their technical string skills. Each student has chosen their preferred stringed instrument, and we have a well-balanced ensemble. They are excited to showcase their talents with a performance at Assembly in Term 2!

Year 3 students interested in enrolling in private tuition can complete the online application below. Please be sure to read the terms and conditions before applying.

For any questions, please contact Mrs. Karen Gordon at kgordon@clayfield.qld.edu.au.

Private Music Tuition

Fees for Private Music Tuition for both Terms 1 and 2 will be charged to each student’s billing account in the Term 2 invoice. The total amount will be based on the number of lessons allocated in Term 1, along with an estimated cost for Term 2 lessons, as determined by each tutor.

Should parents decide to withdraw their child from Private Tuition, it’s imperative that the Music Department is informed. Failing to cancel lessons in a timely manner will incur a cancellation fee equivalent to 2 weeks of lessons. To avoid this, please ensure you send a withdrawal notification via email to music@clayfield.qld.edu.au by the end of Term 1.
