Parent Representatives and Parent Helpers

Keep your eyes peeled 👀 for a note coming home on Monday, December 15 asking for volunteers to be Parent Representatives in 2026 🥳

The Parent Representatives would be asked to help foster parent-community connection, work as teams to organise social events and liaise with the school to run activities which create the beautiful culture that is Donvale Primary School. Representatives would also create a year-level WhatsApp group for parents and carers to join. There would be more than one Parent Representative for each level.

Representatives will also work with the classroom teachers to organise rosters for Parent Helpers.

Parent Helpers

Early in 2026, Donvale Primary School will run Parent Training for parents who would wish to support their child's learning and our school community by offering time to be a Parent Helper.

Helpers may support the classroom learning by listening to children read, reading to children, celebrating writing pieces, helping out in STEM, helping prepare activities by cutting or trimming paper, sharpening pencils, practising high-frequency words with students or in many other ways.

Even if you can only spare an hour or so here or there, this is a great way to be a part of your child's learning journey.

We are so excited to welcome parents into our classrooms, and we know children will be excited to have parents come in, too!
