Principals' Report

Dear Families,

Congratulations to our Prep–Year 2 students on a very successful Sports Carnival held last Friday. It was a fantastic morning, and the enthusiasm and sportsmanship shown by all students were wonderful to see.

A special thank you to Mr Edwards for his excellent organisation of the event, and to all St Patrick’s staff for their support throughout the morning. It was also terrific to see so many parents and special visitors cheering on the children and contributing to the positive atmosphere.

Congratulations to Brigid House (Green) for taking out the overall win, and a big well-done to Emilia and Darcy on receiving the Year 2 Sprint Awards. A great effort by everyone involved!

Special thanks also to the Year 6 Sports captains for their amazing help on the day.

Year 6 Legacy Art Project

My thanks to Mrs Jen Brown and Mr Danny Benoiton for the work that has gone into preparing the Year 6 Legacy Art piece for this year. We have set up three panels on the shipping/storage container where each of the three Year 6 classes can sign their names, creating a vibrant record of their time at St Patrick’s.

In true AC/DC Lane style, this artwork will be painted over and re-created each year by the new Year 6 cohort, ensuring it remains a living, evolving legacy for our senior students.

The final outcome of this project is something we can all be very proud of, and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow and transform each year.

Prep 2026 Orientation

On Tuesday this week, we held the last of our Orientation Sessions for our 2026 Prep students. It was wonderful to welcome our newest learners and their families to St Patrick’s and to see the children engaging so confidently with the activities prepared for them. My sincere thanks to our new Prep team — Mrs Spence, Miss Short and Miss Smith — for the thoughtful planning and the excellent learning experiences they created. Their professionalism and care were evident in every part of the session. Thank you also to Mrs Diakrousis, Mr Speranza and the many LSOs who supported the children so warmly and helped ensure the morning ran smoothly.

School Communication

Please note that nForma will now be our main platform for all school communication.  Please ensure you have downloaded the 'nForma for Parents' app from your online store.

The PDF document linked below includes important details about how to access and use nForma for:

  • Student Reports
  • Notices and Permission Forms
  • Medical Information
  • Marking future absences for your child/children

At this stage, we are not yet using the nMeet feature. We will continue to use SOBS for bookings until further notice.

Please also ensure your child’s medical information is up to date, as the Operoo platform will be going offline in early December.

Year 4 Bike Ed Camp

Congratulations to our Year 4 students on an amazing Bike Ed camp this week. The students have demonstrated a fantastic attitude throughout the experience—embracing challenges, supporting one another, and approaching each activity with enthusiasm and confidence.

We have also received wonderful feedback from the camp staff, who commented on how well‑behaved the students were and how positively they engaged in all aspects of the program. It is always encouraging to hear such affirming comments from those who work closely with school groups.

My sincere thanks go to the St Patrick's staff who have cared for and guided the students so well: Mr Anthony Speranza, Mrs Ellie Connell, Mrs Amanda Evans, Miss Kristi Lenton Mr Colin Edwards, Mrs Bianca Latto, Mrs Vanessa Turner and Mr Richardson Hach.

Their dedication and support ensured the camp was safe, enjoyable, and highly successful for everyone involved.

School Assemblies

Please note that our final Friday school assembly for the year will take place on Friday 5th December

Our last official gathering for 2025 will be our annual Christmas Carols event at Kilbreda, held in the Mary Dalton Hall on Monday 15th December from 9:15am to 10:45am. This is a highlight on our school calendar and a wonderful way to close the year—filled with music, joy, and the festive spirit that our students bring so naturally.

We look forward to seeing you all there as we celebrate the end of another fantastic year at St Patrick’s.

Childers St Fence Works

You may have noticed the clean-up and improvement works taking place along the Childers Street fence line over the past week. These upgrades have already made a noticeable difference to the appearance of this area. My sincere thanks go to Mr Danny Benoiton for his hard work and attention to detail throughout this project. The fence has now been freshly painted, and additional repair works are scheduled to take place over the coming week to ensure the space is looking its best.

We are also continuing with a number of enhancements to our outdoor facilities. This includes the relocation and refresh of the current sandpit area into a memorial garden in memory for our departed staff members - Mr Noonan, Miss Leanne and Mr Bau, the creation of our new Year 6 graffiti art wall—which we know will be a vibrant addition to the yard—and the ongoing repairs to the water bikes. We look forward to seeing these updates further enrich our outdoor spaces for all students to enjoy.
