Year 2 Spotlight

Year 2 Extended Day Camp Adventure!
Our Year 2 students had an unforgettable time at our extended day camp on the 20th and 21st of November. We began on Thursday afternoon with a burst of energy and excitement, as students returned to school at 5pm. The Senior Learning Centre was buzzing as the students took part in fun team games including noodle pickup, one-handed bracelets and ping pong ball transfer.
After working up an appetite, everyone enjoyed delicious pizzas before diving into an amazing Bricks4Kidz! LEGO incursion. The creativity was flowing as students chose between free construction, guided kits and mechanised constructions. We wrapped up the night with a healthy fruit for dessert, enjoying some time with our own class before heading home, tired but happy.
On Friday morning, the fun continued as students arrived in their cosiest pyjamas, ready for Day Two of adventure. We started the morning with breakfast together in the hall, with lots of smiles making the moment extra special. Once everyone was fuelled up, we headed outside to play, where the yard was full of chatter, laughter and games.
The highlight of the day was our dinosaur treasure hunt around the school. Students hunted high and low for hidden dinosaur names, showing teamwork, determination and excellent detective skills. The teachers made some of those hiding spots pretty tricky but many students were able to track down all twenty dinosaurs. To finish our camp experience, we settled in to watch Ice Age with a delicious serve of popcorn. It was the perfect end to two days of fun, friendship and fantastic memories!
