Twilight Picnic and Year 5 Cakes for a Cause

Last Thursday evening’s Twilight Picnic and Year 5 Cakes for a Cause was a wonderful success, despite the challenging weather earlier in the day. After a wet and gloomy Thursday, the community was fortunate to enjoy clear skies and sunshine just in time for the event. Families gathered on the oval to make the most of the many food vans offering a wide variety of options, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. Team Kids added to the enjoyment by running a range of engaging games for students on the oval, ensuring plenty of fun for all. It was a delightful evening that showcased the strong sense of community within our school.

Wellbeing – Mindfulness

Did you know?

We spend 49% of our waking hours thinking about something else other than what we are doing!

Mindfulness is a mental state where you focus on the present, without judging or being distracted. Mindfulness can help you feel better and reduce stress. It is a useful strategy to assist you to deal with difficult emotions and situations. It is a way to train yourself to focus your attention in a certain way and can help you in your day-to-day life, work, relationships and overall wellbeing.

Regular mindfulness practice can improve our:

  • Immune system
  • Energy Levels
  • Sleep Quality
  • Awareness
  • Memory
  • Productivity

Find a mindfulness activity that suits you and that you enjoy. Here are some suggestions:

  • Listening to music
  • Exercise, such as walking
  • Colouring
  • Completing puzzles
  • Meditation
  • Yoga

Mindfulness is a strategy we use at school. Ask your child to share what their favourite mindfulness activity at school is.
