Semester Two Reports

Our staff have been working collaboratively, reviewing data and assessment information in preparation for the End of Semester Reports. These reports are designed to give you a clear insight into your child as a learner, celebrating their progress and identifying their next steps for growth. Reports will be released on Friday, December 12.

Data Champions

We have so much to celebrate this year. The growth we are seeing in our learners is truly incredible.

We will celebrate our Data Champions at our upcoming TERRIFIC Kid Assembly. The Data Champion celebrates one learner in each year level who has demonstrated the greatest individual growth in their Reading and Mathematics assessments across the year.

MacqLit and MiniLit Sage

Our learners participating in MacqLit and MiniLit Sage have completed their session for 2025. Their dedication and commitment to the programs have seen great growth across the board.

Library Books

We love that our learners enjoy taking Library books home each week.

Can you please have a search for any St Mary’s books in your home and return them to the school Library.

Year 2

Year 2 Excursion

At the end of last week, our Year 2 learners enjoyed an excursion to the Port of Echuca and TwistED Science as part of concluding our Inquiry unit, Curious Creators

At the port, learners explored how goods were transported and distributed using paddle steamers. This also linked back to our first Inquiry unit, Echuca Explorers, where we learned about Henry Hopwood and Echuca’s history.

At TwistED Science, our Year 2 learners had the chance to explore through hands-on play. They investigated different science equipment, conducted simple experiments, and took part in a forces lesson focusing on how force affects movement. A highlight for many was using pompom poppers to compare the effects of smaller and larger amounts of force.

It was wonderful to see our learners using teamwork and trial and error to make new discoveries.

Year 3

Last Friday, our Year 3 learners headed off to Murray Life Adventure for an action-packed Day Camp, and what a day it was! From the moment they arrived, the learners were buzzing with excitement and ready to take on every challenge. They soared across the giant flying fox, braved the giant swing, and worked together as they paddled their canoes across the water. Bush surfing brought plenty of laughs, while archery gave everyone the chance to test their aim and celebrate new skills.

It was inspiring to watch the Year 3s step outside their comfort zones, encourage their peers, and celebrate achievements big and small. Their teamwork and communication skills shone throughout the day as they worked together to overcome obstacles and accomplish shared goals. The learners showed fantastic perseverance, positivity, and a willingness to give everything a go.

The camp was not only a memorable adventure but also a wonderful opportunity for the learners to strengthen friendships, build confidence, and further develop their collaboration skills. Our Year 3 learners returned to school tired, proud, and full of stories from an unforgettable day!
