From the Principal

We are One though We are Many!!
And From ALL the Lands on Earth We Come....
We Sing with ONE Voice....
I Am, You are, We are AUSTRALIAN!!
On Wednesday 26 November, we had a celebration of the wonderful rich diversity of our school. A school where there are over 27 different languages spoken at home. A school enriched by the many different cultural groups that make up our school community. So it was a great day to celebrate the multicultural community at St Francis de Sales.
The day commenced in our hall with our children showcasing their amazing talents. We had dancing from a variety of countries, the singing of traditional songs that even included the national anthems of a few countries!! Children played musical instruments. It was great to hear the different languages spoken or sung with pride. The school was ablaze with colour with an exquisite array of national dress from countries across the world.
The celebrations continued in the Learning Spaces and it was wonderful to have so many parents join us for the morning. Children and parents participated in a number of different games and activities from different countries. There was carrom being played, boots being thrown to get close to a target, origami and even some mother's showing that they can still skip!! It was a lot of FUN!!
To conclude the morning the children enjoyed a tasting platter of foods from different lands, kindly prepared by our P&F. The parents gathered in the hall and enjoyed a feast of foods that were all home cooked and were just delicious. Thanks to the specialists team and to the staff for organising this great event. The feedback was very positive and all agreed we should definitely do this again. We are one as a community in all our richness, we continue to learn and thrive as we build new relationships and form new friendships. We are Australian!!
