Year 6 Big Day Out - Graduation Celebration
Our Year 6 students enjoyed an action-packed Big Day Out, filled with fun activities and plenty of laughter. We began the morning at the Hijinx Hotel in Chadstone, where students worked together to tackle a series of challenges and escape rooms.
From there, the adventure continued at Holey Moley for a round of mini golf, before heading over to Archie Brothers to enjoy arcade games, dodgem cars and virtual reality experiences.
Our final stop at Chadstone was Strike, where students played a game of bowling and refuelled with a tasty lunch of pizza, chips and a soft drink. To finish the day on a sweet note, we stopped for delicious gelato at Will's Batch in Elsternwick before returning to school.
Year 6 Final Assembly and Liturgy
Over the past few weeks, our Year 6 students have been hard at work learning songs, rehearsing lines and creating energetic dances to bring their final assembly to life. A special thank you goes to Ms Mclean, whose creativity and guidance have helped choreograph the final dance item. Our thanks also go to Glenn Morrissey for helping with the musical component of the assembly. The students are incredibly excited to share their performance with the school community and showcase all they have achieved this year.
International Day of People with Disability at GESAC
Our Year 6 students recently took part in the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), a United Nations-recognised day that promotes understanding, acceptance and inclusion for people with disability. Students were thrilled to watch an exciting wheelchair football match between St Kilda and Collingwood before joining in a range of inclusive activities, including basketball, gymnastics, dance and pickleball. They learned that IDPwD is a global initiative supported in Australia by the government, schools and community groups, focusing on removing barriers and celebrating the 5.5 million Australians living with disability. The day was a wonderful opportunity for our students to deepen their awareness while having fun, and they wrapped it all up with a well-earned sausage sizzle.
Forest Edge Camp
Our Year 5 students had a wonderful time at Forest Edge Camp earlier this term, embracing the outdoors and taking on a range of exciting adventure activities. The program encouraged teamwork, confidence and resilience as students worked together on the low ropes course and participated in a variety of team-building games. One of the highlights was the flying fox, where students soared across the valley with huge smiles and plenty of encouragement from their peers. They also enjoyed rafting on the river and trying their hand at bush boarding, which quickly became a favourite.
It was a wonderful few days away, filled with fun, friendship and new challenges, and our Year 5s returned to school proud of their achievements and the memories they made. A huge thank you to Ms Dusting, Mr Hayes, Mr C, Ms Murtagh and Mr Jansson for attending.
