End of Year Reflections and Updates

2025 has been a big year in school life, with so many milestones reached and adventures had. As we approach the end of the school year, it’s a wonderful opportunity to pause and reflect on all that has happened. From our Foundation students now stepping confidently into Year One, right through to our Year Six cohort preparing to finish their primary years and move on to high school, it has truly been a year of growth. Together, we have navigated challenges, celebrated achievements, and created memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to our dedicated teachers, Executive Team, and support staff - you continue to inspire and nurture our students every day. Your passion and commitment make a profound difference in their lives. To our parents and carers, your support has been invaluable. Your involvement in school events and activities has strengthened our community and fostered a genuine spirit of collaboration. And of course, to our wonderful students - thank you for your enthusiasm, resilience, and hard work. You have accomplished so much in 2025, and we are incredibly proud of you. As we move forward, let’s continue to build on our successes and support one another. Here’s to many more years of growth, learning, and community spirit.

Thank You to Our Movie Night Volunteers

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible volunteers that made Movie Night a success!

Our annual Movie Night relies on the dedication and teamwork of ENPS parent and carer volunteers. From early planning through to clean-up, your creativity, organisation, and generosity shaped every part of the event. Your efforts strengthen our community, deepen connections between families and staff, and set a positive example of teamwork and generosity for our students.

Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. We are truly grateful for your contribution and look forward to more community-led events in 2026!

School Council Nominations for 2026

In early 2026, Essendon North Primary School will be calling for nominations for vacant positions on School Council. As the 2025 School Council, we would like to take this opportunity to share some reflections from our time and encourage parents and carers who may be interested in contributing to the 2026 Council to apply! Please take a moment to read the letter that has been shared on Compass this week and reach out to any of us or the school office, if you have any questions about the process or would like to better understand what it involves.

“A Rewarding Way to Contribute” – Jenny Dinh

In 2023, when my son commenced Foundation, I decided to join School Council. I wanted to understand the school more deeply and contribute in areas where parents can support the broader school community in a positive and engaging way. Over the past two years, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on Council. I’ve built strong connections with fellow parent councillors, and through many school activities I’ve also come to know a wide range of other parents. These relationships have helped foster a genuine sense of community across the school. The recent Movie Night is a perfect example. Through planning and preparation, I saw firsthand the impact of parent-led initiatives. The event set a wonderful benchmark for future community engagement and highlighted the value of parents and staff working collaboratively. Overall, my experience on School Council has been rewarding, enriching, and a meaningful way to contribute to the school environment my child is growing up in.”

“A sense of belonging and connection” – Amrita Prasad

My first year on School Council has meant more to me than I expected! It gave me a chance to listen, be heard, and understand our school and the ENPS community in a deeper way. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute, hands-on to our children’s growth and education. I loved getting to know the other parents and teachers. It has truly been meaningful, rewarding and a reminder that every little bit matters and together we can all make a difference!

“Four Years of Impact and Engagement” – Ben Suter, School Council President

I’m coming to the end of my fourth year on School Council and have loved being involved in the important decisions and events that helped improve ENPS and bring our community together in 2025. Our Executive Team and staff really value the contributions of councillors, making it a rewarding role with real impact on the VIPs - our kids! We look forward to welcoming new and returning members to School Council in 2026, along with our amazing army of volunteers.”

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year!

Warm wishes from School Council
