A Message from the Principal

Dear Families and Friends,

Pablo Picasso once said, “There are painters who transform the sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who… transform a yellow spot into sun.” This captures the heart of our week at Salvado Catholic College, where students across the College showcased creativity, skill, and community spirit.

On Friday 7 November, our Secondary School Arts, Design and Technology Showcase demonstrated the remarkable talent of our students. Their work reflected thoughtful design, creativity, and strong technical skills. Parents and guests were invited to walk through the exhbition space, viewing a wide range of impressive pieces. Visitors also had the opportunity to vote for their favourite works, adding an interactive and fun element to the evening. Thank you to our Visual Arts and Technologies staff for the guidance, encouragement, and expertise that helped students develop these impressive pieces.

Our Hospitality students also made a significant contribution to the evening. They prepared and served canapés, desserts, and refreshments with professionalism and pride. Their teamwork, attention to detail, and warm service created a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. We are grateful to the Hospitality staff for the time and support they invest in helping students develop these real-world skills.

The same evening, our Primary School students enjoyed their much-loved Disco. With music, dancing, and plenty of fun, it was a joyful celebration for our youngest learners. Thank you to the Friends of Salvado for organising the event and to the Primary School staff who generously assisted on the night to ensure everyone had a safe and enjoyable time.

The weekend was rounded out on Saturday 8 November with our Senior School Production of Dags. Our cast and crew delivered an honest and humorous portrayal of teenage life, performing with confidence and commitment. A sincere thank you to the Arts staff and volunteers who put in many hours of preparation, guiding students through rehearsals and ensuring the production came together so successfully.

We also congratulate St Francis Xavier Parish on their 80th Anniversary—a significant milestone for our local Catholic community. The parish celebrated with a special Mass led by Auxiliary Bishop Don Sproxton, followed by a vibrant market day. Salvado Catholic College was pleased to participate, and our students offered their service by running a face-painting stall for children—a gesture warmly received by families. It was also lovely to connect with many of our own families who attended the day.

Across all of these events, one message stands out: our community thrives when students, staff, and families work together. Thank you to everyone who contributed time, talent, and energy. Your support ensures our students continue to learn, grow, and shine.
