Captains Corner

I am so grateful to be a school captain for my final years at primary school. My final year has been a wonderful experience having different camps and making friends with different people. Doncaster has offered so many good memories, memories I will never forget. A favourite memory of mine was definitely Canberra Camp. It was a 5 day camp learning about Australian Democracy. My favourite part was going to AIS learning about sport and different people. I also enjoyed goofing around with my friends in the cabin. Being a school leader has helped me grow into the person I am today, I never back down to a challenge and I am much more confident in public speaking. My favourite part about being a school captain was definitely knowing that I was looked up to as a role model. Doncaster Primary School has been the best 7 years ever. Next year I look forward to making more friends and more memories with those close to me. I will still miss the priceless memories I have made here at Doncaster Primary School.

This year has been the best year for me out of the 6 years learning at Doncaster Primary. Year 6 has given me a wide range of opportunities, friendships and endless memories. I am very grateful for all the past experiences that came my way. I want to thank all the teachers that have educated me at DPS and all the grade 6 teachers for all the effort and time they put into making 2025 such an exciting and incredible year for us and making all these experiences and fun events possible. I appreciate everything they have done for making this grade 6 cohort so special and one to remember. It is very upsetting to think of ending all the memorable times I have had, and leaving the place where it all started for me. It's extraordinary to look back at every achievement, victories and friends that we are leaving behind to start a freshly brand new chapter of our lives starting high school. I am looking forward to seeing what high school has to offer me for the future.

I am so grateful to be able to write my final captains corner for the year. Being a 2025 captain has overall been an amazing experience and I have learnt many things in both leadership and normal life that I can take with me to high school. Doncaster Primary School has made my primary school experience something that will stay with we in my heart for the rest of my life. In grade 5 we went to sovereign hill and I still remember getting of the bus and feeling like a cowboy. I got to walk around a remake of the original town from the gold rush and eat delicious candies such as the toffee apples. I met many new people and overall grew as a person. I think that being a captain has made me into a more social, more confident person and more of a leader. I'm grateful to Doncaster Primary for accepting me to be a school captain and helping me grow not just as a leader but as a person. I'm excited to start a new chapter in my school life and head of to high school. I think that I will find high school fun and I will socialise and meet new people to hang out with.

This year has been full of many ups and downs, graduating primary school, Canberra camp and learning with teachers that have paved my way to where I am today. I am extremely grateful for the way Doncaster has treated me since I was in prep and how I will miss this school deeply. I have been taught numerous life lessons such as confidence, calculating money, writing original and authentic pieces and learning how to become an amazing friend to each other. I am extremely proud of myself and how I formed into a leader of the school. I have many countless friends, some who will come with me to high school and others who I'll encounter later in life. Overall I am happy to graduate but sad to leave the school and hope to look back and be happy with what I achieved.
