ARTS WEEK 2025 - May 12th - May 16th
Last week Kambrya College held our annual arts week! We had great activities all week that students loved.
Monday we held a ‘Spaced Out’ performance competition where students and staff were able to zone out for 8 minutes and whoever was the most relaxed, or the best dressed, got votes. Additional to this our wonderful rockband performed a set for the entirety of lunch time!
Tuesday our beautiful choir serenaded the college with 3 amazing songs while Mr. Sterland did an airbrush demonstration wowing all the students.
Wednesday part 2 of our ‘Spaced Out competition began where more students and staff could compete, or compete again to hold their title. To add to this there was also a movie quiz that was held for students to have a go at and a drama improv/ drama games session.
Thursday was a big day with college Stage Band putting on a lively performance. There was a live drawing competition where some staff would pose for students to have a go at drawing. Lastly on Thursday we had a fun karaoke session where anyone and everyone could request a song to either sing with a friend or solo.
Friday was our final day for arts week and we got to see a captivating drumline performance that had everyone wanting to see what was happening.
To follow that the VCE drama students had their largest assessment for the year and put on an engaging and entertaining performance in the evening for friends and family.
As part of our Arts Week celebrations we also hosted an exciting Art Competition open to students from Years 7 to 12. The challenge? To create an A5-sized artwork with the entire surface covered - no blank spaces! Students embraced the task with enthusiasm, producing a stunning array of artworks that showcased imagination, skill, and personal expression.

EMERGENT 2024: GRADUATE EXHIBITION
Presented annually at Bunjil Place, Emergent 2024: Graduate Exhibition celebrates the creative achievements of VCE students and provides a platform for emerging artists, designers and film makers from our local region. Selected from over 120 submissions, the 27 artists, designers and film makers exhibited in Emergent 2024: Graduate Exhibition work across a range of mediums, sharing their challenges and concerns, but also their ideas and solutions to problems.
Emergent 2024: Graduate Exhibition was co-curated by three year 12 students from the region, working alongside Bunjil Place Gallery curatorial staff – one of which, was our very own Lacie Abdelrehim. Also featured in the event were two of our year 10 music students – Tours Luo (Vioin) and Nathan Cazar (piano) who treated the audience members with renditions of Jazz, Rnb, Pop and Classical works as they made their way into the exhibition.
A massive congratulations to Lacie, Tours and Nathan for their efforts and for representing the college so well.
