Junior School Mother's Day Breakfast at Kambala

It was heartening to be joined by our Kambala Mothers and Carers for our annual Junior School Mother's Day breakfast. We are always about amplifying the voice of your daughters, so I cannot think of a better way to sum up the power of our mothers than in the words of our Junior School Captain Ruby Lin:

“I’ve never really taken the time to thank my mum for her endless support, the countless sacrifices she quietly makes each day, and especially for the unconditional love that wraps around me every time I come home. Her strength is the type that never asks for recognition, but I see it, and I carry it with me always. I’ll never be able to thank my mum for all the things she has done so willingly for me – for all the times she’s set aside her own needs, her own dreams, just to pour every bit of herself into mine. Her love is the kind that gives without question, sacrifices without complaint, and holds me up even when I don't realise I'm falling.

She will be my forever number 1 cheerleader, the one who sees the light in me if I am in the shadows, and reminds me that I am loved, supported and never alone.

Her faith echoes louder than my fears. My mum loves me  for who I am  and sees in me who I can  become. She is my role model, my anchor, my entire world. I know I will never be able to repay her. But maybe, that’s the beauty of my mothers love – it asks for nothing; yet gives everything.

But what I can give in return is my whole heart, overflowing with love and gratitude for all the small and selfless acts that she thought I didn't notice. I love her more than words can ever truly hold. Every achievement I make, no matter how small,  she celebrates like they are her own. She sees my potential cheering me on through every stumble or success. She is the reason I know what love feels like, because she gives her all and for that, I will be forever grateful. ‘ All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother. The one I admire more than anyone in the world. She is the quiet force behind every step I take, and the love I carry with me in everything I do. She means the world to me, without her, I wouldn’t be who I am today.”
