Library News

Have you had a chance to walk through our Library recently? The Library staff have been busy putting up some great, eye-catching displays and new book collections to spark the interest of all readers!

Also, you may have noticed some excellent St Joseph’s Library information booklets floating around in classes or reading room tubs. These booklets are a fantastic resource for students to get a greater understanding of the different genres throughout the library and books that fit these genres. Referring to this booklet will help avid readers move from one collection to another by following books of similar narratives via the genre recommendations. Ask our friendly library staff for a copy.

2025 Premier's Reading Challenge

The Premier's Reading Challenge is an annual statewide initiative for state and non-state schools and home-educated students up to Year 9 and children enrolled in an early childhood centre or program.

The challenge is not a competition but aims to improve literacy and encourage children to read widely for pleasure and learning.

For Year 7 - Year 9 students to successfully complete the challenge they must read or experience an allocated number of books based upon their year level during the reading period.

All those who complete the challenge will have their efforts recognised through the receipt of a Certificate of Achievement.
