Food Tech

We've had a busy few weeks in the Food Tech room! 

 

We started the term by baking Anzac biscuits, which were enjoyed by all. Students took part in discussions about the historical significance of these biscuits and why they were made for the ANZACs. 

 

Next, we prepared minestrone soup, and we were proud of the students' curiosity in trying something new. They paired their soup with delicious homemade croutons. 

 

This week, we’ve been busy baking salted caramel delights. Students thoroughly enjoyed making their own caramel for these.

Here’s a list of ingredients we’ll be using in the coming weeks (all known allergies are catered for): 

 

  • Plain flour 
  • SR flour 
  • Frozen vegetables 
  • Leek 
  • A variety of spices 
  • Vegetable oil 
  • Egg replacer 
  • Cinnamon 
  • Icing sugar
