READ EVERY DAY! READ MORE IN MAY! May is Scholastic's annual National Family Reading Month, the 29th year they've run it and it's all about what we believe in most, helping children build a love of reading. This May, it's all about encouraging families to take up the challenge, to read together every day. By reading together for even just 10 minutes a day, helps us build powerful reading habits for life.
A new book catalogue has gone home today, lots on offer inside. Orders are due by Tuesday 13th May. Ordering online is easy - head to the LOOP.
www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP - orders here help the library so much 15% of every purchase comes back to the school for us to continue to stock the shelves with new and relevant books. Happy Reading!!
First Library Club was a huge hit and although it wasn't as quiet as a normal library 'shhhhhh' that was totally fine! There were lots of questions about where to find specific books and a few ideas from some industrious students who are going to help us create a book club! Beautiful mateship on display as kids sat together, shared bean bags, knowledge and space. It was great to see some of the senior school students enjoying the slower pace. I was even getting orders for which books they'd like to see stocked in the library! Library Club will run weekly and I'm always excited to encourage our kids' interest in books!
Thinking of our ANZACs this weekend to our heroes in uniforms past and present.
Happy Reading! Miss Kat
