Welcome back! We hope everyone in our school community had a joyful and restful Easter holiday. As we return for a new term, we look forward to reconnecting, continuing our learning journey, and embracing the opportunities ahead...and hasn't the weather been fantastic?!
Anzac Day Commemoration
A big thank you to our Year Five students who stepped up and lead the school community so respectfully at today’s ANZAC Day commemoration.Thank you to Sasha’s father, George, a serving member of the RAAF, who spoke to the students about what it was like to be an active ADF personnel member and read to us the poem In Flanders Fields by John McCrae
By John McCrae
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
