Hospitality Students
On Friday, May 16, our Hospitality students participated in an engaging business case study at the Uralla Bowling Club. They had the valuable opportunity to learn from Helen, the club’s Secretary Manager, who shared her extensive knowledge gained from 38 years of industry experience in hospitality. Students have a greater insight into how the club is evolving to meet both legislative requirements and the changing needs of our local community.
A Joyful Piano Duet at the Armidale Eisteddfod
On Saturday 17 May, David and Johnathan Kpayah represented our school through their participation in the Piano Duet section of the Armidale Eisteddfod. Although neither of the boys is currently studying Music at school, their ongoing dedication to developing their musical skills is truly commendable.
Their performance was beautifully delivered and warmly received by the audience. In a unique outcome, no first place was awarded in the category, and David and Johnathan shared second place with another talented duet team — a wonderful recognition of their effort and musicianship.
We thank them for sharing their talents with the wider community and congratulate them on such a memorable achievement. Well done, David and Johnathan!
Young Ranger Program
On Tuesday, 6 May the Young Ranger Program commenced for 2025. Day one, the official start of the program began on Country, Nyabinga Kyuna. As part of the program the students were taught a couple of dances. While the boys learned a welcome and introduction to Country the girls were taught a dance about the rain.
Students also had the opportunity to engage with local elders who joined the students on country.
On day two of the program students were learning about identity and to introduce themselves in language, and encouraged to learn about their family connections, heritage and totem.
