Principal's Report

Semester 1 Report Changes
From this semester, we’re introducing updated school reports from Kindergarten to Year 10. The new format has been developed by the NSW Department of Education in response to feedback from parents and educators to make reports easier to read and understand. Your child’s report will still show their progress across all subject areas. Teacher comments will appear in English, Mathematics and the general comment section, in line with department policy. The general comment for Kindergarten also covers all other Key Learning Areas including, Creative Arts, HSIE, PDHPE, and Science and Technology. A new achievement scale and descriptions(this link is hyperlinked) are included to provide a clearer picture of your child’s progress.
Asset Works
Over the next few weeks, there will be a number of asset projects completed at school to upgrade doors, walkways and entry points. We will work with contractors to ensure that any disruptions are minimal.
Transition Days for Year 7, 2026
Our first transition day for students commencing Year 7 in 2026 will be held next Wednesday 28 May here at school. We have visited Year 6 students at our local public schools to invite them to join our UCS Year 6 students on the day. If you know of any Year 6 students at other schools who are keen to enrol and be a part of our transition process, please ask them to call us here at school.
Great Aussie Bush Camp Excursion
Thank you to our staff who supervised our Years 3-6 students who attended the Great Aussie Bush Camp last week. What a fantastic time they all had!
Assembly Time Change
We are moving our assembly times to 11.30am each time they are held at school. Our usual 10.00am time slot is clashing with other programs in the school and therefore some of our students are missing out. Our next assembly will be on Tuesday 3 June at 11.30am. We invite all members of our school community to join us.
Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to Mr Brown and his team for another successful athletics carnival. There were so many students wanting to compete that we actually didn't finish all events and we are now completing them at school. Well done again to everyone and thanks to the many parents and members of the community for coming along to watch the events.
P&C 2025
I congratulate our new P&C executive for 2025. At Monday's P&C AGM the following people were elected:
President: Chloe Grace
Vice Presidents: Nikki Farthing and Leah Miller
Treasurer: Andrew Toomey
Secretary: Lucy Byrnes
I would like to acknowledge the hard work of Lucy Byrnes, UCS president for a number of years. Lucy has worked hard to bring the P&C back to a full functioning group of dedicated parents and community members, to support our school wherever it can. We are truly grateful for her support and hard work.
We warmly welcome Chloe Grace to the position of president where we will continue to work closely together to provide resources and advice where possible. Thanks again to the whole team for your commitment.
