Japanese Culture

Year 10 Students Explore Japanese Culture in Melbourne

On May 5th, the Year 10 Japanese students went on an exciting excursion to Melbourne’s CBD to learn more about Japanese culture and its influence in the city.

The day started with a fun Japanese-themed scavenger hunt. Students worked in groups to find places around the city that showed signs of Japanese influence. It was a great way to explore Melbourne while learning something new.

One of the highlights was a visit to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), where students took part in a guided tour. They saw both traditional and modern Japanese art, including colourful works by Yayoi Kusama and beautiful woodblock prints. The tour gave everyone a better understanding of Japan’s rich art history.

At lunchtime, students enjoyed a tasty obento meal while relaxing in the Royal Botanic Gardens. It was the perfect way to end a fun and educational day out.

Overall, the excursion was a big success. Students had a great time learning outside the classroom and seeing how Japanese culture is a part of everyday life in Melbourne.
