Science

Year 7G
In this engaging hands-on science lab, students explored the properties of materials by making their own play dough from simple household ingredients.
This activity combined elements of chemistry and creativity, allowing students to observe physical changes as they mixed flour, salt, water, oil, to produce a soft, pliable dough.
After creating the play dough, students used it to construct models related to various scientific concepts, such as the layers of the Earth, cell structures, or simple anatomical forms. This part of the activity encouraged critical thinking, spatial reasoning, and application of scientific knowledge in a fun and tactile way.
Through this lab, students not only learned about mixtures and changes in matter, but also developed their teamwork and problem-solving skills. The use of play dough provided a memorable and effective way to visualize abstract scientific ideas, reinforcing their understanding through interactive learning.
