Anzac Day

On Friday 25 April, our students stood alongside our community to commemorate ANZAC Day at services held across the district. We are incredibly proud of those who represented our school with dignity and respect laying wreaths, marching, and participating in ceremonies that honour the legacy of the ANZACS. Our boys carried the flags in the World War 2 division in the march through the CBD and laid a wreath at the cenotaph during the ceremony that followed.

On Tuesday 29 April, the Senior School gathered to mark Anzac Day with a short service in the quadrangle.

Pope Francis

It is with deep sorry we acknowledge the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, who returned to the house of the Father on Monday 21 April. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially in favour of the poorest and most marginalized. With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the One and Triune God."

Lord Jesus, you have called Pope Francis to yourself. Thank you for the gift of his papacy. When he was with us, he tirelessly showed the Church your constant mercy toward all. Grant him now your mercy and let him rest eternally with you in your Kingdom. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Edmund Rice Education – Global Map

We recently hung our EREBB Global Map in the library. This initiative allows our students at the College to broaden their understanding of Edmund Rice Education reach and influence throughout the world. The different flags around the map represent the multiple nationalities of our own staff and student body.

Senior Retreats

It was a massive week for our Year 10, 11 and 12 students who all engaged in our Retreats run by Dave Journa from Project Hatch during Week 10 of Term 1. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to further build connections and foster relationships with others. It is our hope that the retreat gave our students time away from the ‘every day’ to reflect on significant relationships and personal experiences, to build a positive self-image, and to explore the presence of God in their lives.

Stations of the Cross

On the last Friday of Term 1, our Senior School engaged in our Stations of the Cross performance for Lent. Our student leaders led the performance in front of the College in the Amphitheatre. It was fantastic to see us come together to understand and celebrate our faith.

As part of this celebration, our College Choir and Vocal Ensemble performed Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. Thank you to all staff and students involved. Our Choir and Vocal Ensemble will continue to perform at all major school events.
