Traffic Update
Thank you to those parents who are displaying safe driving, walking and parking every day around our school. A few reminders
- parking in Coles is encouraged, especially in the afternoon
- the driveway does not have pedestrian access the whole way. If parking in Coles please walk through the school and not down the side of the Church.
- there is a pedestrian crossing at the bottom of the driveway that must be left clear at all times
- please have bags with the students in the morning. We discourage students having to walk in front or behind cars in the carline.
In the afternoon a teacher will be down the bottom of the driveway, texting the names of the students to the staff upstairs. This has helped the flow of the traffic.
It's been brought to our attention that cars that queue early are blocking access to the rear Coles entry and stopping the flow of traffic. We would suggest that parents arrive at the drive through line no earlier than 2.50pm
We have been made aware that the local police and council traffic control will be attending our after-school dismissal to observe traffic safety and make further recommendations.
Road Safety Week
Next week students will be learning about all the ways that we can be safe around roads and in forms of transport.
Our activities will include such valuable lessons as-
- Look and Listen before crossing the road
- Hold hands with adults when near a road
- correct bike riding safety
correct seat belt wearing

Walk Safely to School Day on Friday 16 May 2025
Road Safety Week will end with National Walk Safely to School Day. Now in it's 28th year, (WSTSD) is an annual event when all primary school children will be encouraged to walk and commute safely to school. It is a community event seeking to promote road safety, health, public transport, and the environment.
During April, Transport for NSW will be reminding motorists about Bus Flashing Lights.
Parents and carers play an important part in keeping children safe around roads by:
- Sticking to the speed limit and following the road rules in school zones
- Slowing down to 40km/h when bus lights are flashing, unless a lower speed limit applies
- Looking out for children crossing the road near bus stops, in school zones or along bus routes
- Giving way to buses when they merge back into traffic.
