Whats Happening In RE
At Kildare, there are twenty one Religious Education teachers who provide a witness to the religious dimension of the human person. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches us that the human person “is by nature and vocation a religious being”.
Each teacher also has other talents and are employed across the school teaching English, HSIE, Technology, PDHPE, Music and Visual Art. This provides unique opportunities for students to enter into the religious dimension of the college in different ways. Please enjoy a sample of the amazing work done in a Year 7 RE class that is led by two Visual Arts teachers.
Term 1 work looked at Kildare as a school with a religious legacy. Students have captured some of the significant sites around the college with these illustrations.
Students were also asked to create a postcard welcoming the Year 7 cohort.
The post cards communicate the core values of our school community.
As we are a Laudato Si Action school it was wonderful that students would be able to meditate on the way Nature reflects God’s creative genius.
In Term 3, students reflected on the core beliefs of the Catholic Church.
And on literary forms of the Bible.
